HIKING

The M³-Trail is a 33 kilometer long tour with a perfect mix of nature and culture. Exciting trails, stream valleys and exceptional natural areas offer nature lovers a unique journey through the triangle of three countries. With the Museum of Europe in Schengen, the Castle of the Dukes of Lorraine and the Chapel of Peace, culture and history lovers will find exciting places along the way.

Hard years of war, countless border shifts, power struggles, negotiations and agreements have marked the border area and its inhabitants for centuries. A closer look at the natural landscape reveals the scars of that time with trenches, overgrown anti-tank barriers, bomb funnels and hidden bunkers.

Thanks to the Schengen Agreement, the region has become a common living and cultural space without borders. The M³-Trail offers the possibility to discover this common living and cultural space, its inhabitants and its history.

The tour can be started at different locations.

In France, parking is available at the Trois Frontières Tourisme in Sierck-les-Bains and at Maison de la Nature in Montenach

Please note! This route is forbidden to mountain bikes because of the many protected natural sites it crosses.
